licensed jumper FAQs

  • When you jump with us for the first time (each year), your gear will be checked by one of our staff.

  • Currently Skydive West Edmonton does not have any experienced-level rental gear. We have student gear for rent.

  • BRING YOUR LOGBOOK - it's the only way we have of verifying your license, jump numbers and currency. Bring your CSPA card - you must have a current CSPA affiliation to jump at Skydive West Edmonton. One of our team will provide you with a dropzone briefing and you may be asked to do a check out jump with one of our coaches/instructors, and/or go through some refresher training. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

  • AADs will be required for anyone with an A CoP or below. No exceptions.

  • Students: as per CSPA, a student parachutist who has not made a jump within the previous 60 days shall make a checkout jump with an instructor before returning to solo freefall.

Solo and A CoP: Solo - same as student. A CoP - coach jump if over 60 days.

Note that depending on experience and how long it's been since your last jump, we reserve the right to require anyone do a checkout jump or do some refresher training with one of our coaches.

  • Yes, you can. Campers will be required to fill out a Camping Agreement and adhere to it. We have bathrooms complete with showers for you to use while you're staying with us.

  • Yes - but it has to be on leash at all times during skydiving operations, and you MUST clean up after it. If you don't, your dog will be asked to leave.

  • Bring your ID and logbook so we can verify your jump numbers and currency. All experienced jumpers will need a current CSPA affiliation so bring your card. If you have your own gear, one of our staff members will check it. You'll get a dropzone briefing from one of our staff, and you'll be paired up with a coach or instructor if needed.

  • We will have a limited selection of items for sale, but please bring what you need to stay fed and hydrated for the duration of your stay with us, whether that's a day or a weekend!

  • If you have a B CoP and 200 skydives, yes. If you're doing something for the first time - eg wingsuit, freefly, etc. it is recommended that you leave the camera on the ground until you're more comfortable with your new discipline/gear/friends.

  • Speak to the Safety Officer or DZO about jumping with tandems.

  • We have lots of coaches and instructors who are excited to jump with you! Come see us in manifest and we'll point you in the direction of the day's coaches and organizers.

  • We have three CSPA Learning Facilitators on staff who will be happy to answer your ratings questions and help you on your way. Come see us in manifest and we'll connect you!
