begin Your Skydiving adventure with Skydive West Edmonton's Elite Training

Welcome to the first step in your skydiving journey! At Skydive West Edmonton, we proudly follow the guidelines of the Canadian Sport Parachuting Association (CSPA), ensuring a safe and exhilarating learning experience. Our Progressive Freefall (PFF) program is designed to transition you from your initial tandem jump to achieving your Solo Certificate.

Your adventure starts with a tandem skydive, where you'll learn the fundamentals of aircraft exit, freefall, and parachute control while securely harnessed to an experienced instructor. As you advance, you'll take on more responsibility by wearing your own parachute and exiting the aircraft with the support of our CSPA-certified instructors. You'll experience the thrill of deploying and piloting your parachute, with ground instructors guiding you via radio.

For the crucial first and second level training, we operate on an appointment-only basis. This ensures personalized attention and instructor availability. Please reach out to us to book your jump for these initial levels.

As you progress through the PFF program, we continue with appointment-based training, but with added flexibility. Training schedules are tailored to your individual pace, accommodating your availability, instructor availability, and suitable weather conditions. Remember, booking your skydives with us in advance is essential to ensure we can accommodate you effectively.

Embark on this thrilling path at Skydive West Edmonton, where we're committed to guiding you every step of the way in your skydiving journey.

  • All restrictions and requirements that apply to tandems also apply to students, with the exception that you must be 18 or over to learn to skydive.

  • Please contact us for pricing.

  • We have everything you need to get started!

  • You may be asked to repeat a level if the instructor determines it is necessary. Repeated levels will be charged at an individual price.

  • Once you obtain your Solo license, you can now skydive all by yourself! You can also jump with our coaches to progress towards additional skydive licenses - A, B, C and D. More about CSPA licensing can be found on their website here: https://www.cspa.ca/en/learn-skydive/get-certified

  • While we know YouTube can be entertaining, it's not necessarily the best place to learn about skydiving. The CSPA website is chock-full of information you need. You will need to become familiar with the PIMs - Parachutist Information Manuals - in order to progress through the CSPA licensing and ratings program. They can be found here: https://www.cspa.ca/en/PIMs

  • First things first! Skydiving consists of many disciplines and wingsuiting is one of those, and can be very fun. But first, we need to know how to skydive without the wingsuit. You must have a B CoP and a minimum of 200 jumps before learning how to wingsuit. More information can be found in CSPA's Technical Recommendations.

  • Skydivers must have a B CoP and a minimum of 200 jumps before wearing a camera. If you want some video of your jump, ask one of our coaches or instructors if they can film your skydive.

  • We love it when our skydivers want to join our team! CSPA is partnered with the Coaching Association of Canada to empower coaches with knowledge and skills, promote ethics and positive attitudes, provide access to valuable resources, and allow for national recognition of skydiving coaches.

The first step will be to get your Coach 1 rating - this is the "entry level" rating in the CSPA system. From there, you can continue to progress in the coaching and instructor system. More information can be found here: https://www.cspa.ca/en/ratings

All of our coaches and instructors are CSPA trained and certified, and can answer your questions about getting your own ratings!
